About

YouTube is a video sharing service where music videos are officially uploaded. Views on official music videos posted on YouTube are essential to music show scores.

Setting up

Log in to your YouTube account

Ensure that you are logged in and that you are not using incognito mode or a private browser. If you have a YouTube Premium account, make sure you are logged in to that account. Using a YouTube Premium trial is also encouraged.

Only have one page open per device

Don't open multiple tabs, accounts etc., even on different browsers on the same device. This may lead to views not being counted.

Unmute your YouTube player

On a computer, you may mute the tab or the computer volume, but not the YouTube player itself. On mobile devices, don't mute your device, use headphones if you need to.

Turn off autoplay

Make sure that autoplay is turned off.

Set video quality to 480p or higher

The minimum video quality is 480p. We encourage streaming in higher quality if your internet connection allows it.

Don't use ad blockers or VPNs

Streaming best practices

Manually search for the video

Use the search function on the website or mobile app. Don't use a direct link or a playlist.

Watch the entire video

It is okay to skip ads. Don't skip, pause, loop or change the video playback speed. Don't refresh the page, leave the tab, or split screen with another app.

Like, comment and share

After watching the video, like it, leave a comment and share it on social media to increase engagement. Don't spam the comments, however - one or two comments per video is enough.

Make sure the comment is unique and relevant to the video. You can also reply to other comments.

Filler videos

Once the MV is over, find different other videos to watch. Each video should be at least 2-3 minutes long, and you should watch at least 15-20 minutes worth of filler videos after each MV view.

Search for videos from various different channels, and use the Trending tab to find popular videos.

Repeat

Continue from step 1. Don't clear your watch history or browser cache.
