About

Spotify is an international music streaming service. It is counted towards Circle Global Chart for music shows, as well as towards Billboard charts.

Setting up

Spotify requires you to have an account. You can sign up for free, but a Premium account is recommended if possible. Check to see if there are any free trial offers available, as premium streams are weighted more heavily.

Log in to your Spotify account

Ensure that you are logged in and that you are not using incognito mode or a private browser.

Only have one page open per device

Don't open multiple tabs, accounts etc., even on different browsers on the same device.

Unmute your Spotify player

On a computer, you may mute the tab or the computer volume, but not the Spotify player itself. On mobile devices, don't mute your device, use headphones if you need to.

Don't use ad blockers or VPNs

Streaming best practices

Create your own playlist, or check out #trickydelivery on X (formerly Twitter) for pre-made playlists that you can use to stream. Playlists should be about 2-3 hours long. Avoid using songs from competing artists in the same music shows / charts during their promotion period.

Manually search for the song

Use the search function on the website or mobile app when adding to your playlist.

Use a variety of fillers

Add 2-5 different songs in between each title track stream, and scatter the album B-sides throughout the playlist. Fillers can be other xikers songs, or songs from other artists. Include a variety of artists, genres and languages.

Stream your playlist

Press play on your playlist, and let it run through. Don't loop songs in the playlist or the playlist itself, and disable autoplay.

Occasionally pause or skip the filler songs, but not too often. Only do this after the first 30 seconds of the song has played. Occasionally use the share function on the title track to increase engagement.

Repeat

Switch to a different playlist after each full playthrough. Don't clear your listening history.
